LUXURY BABE PLAN: CAITLYN CHASE. HER LOVE FOR TRAVEL, WHY SHE CREATED HER LUXURY BLOG, AND HER BEAUTY SECRETS YOU MUST TRY!

Written by PLAN LUXE.

One of the most well-known women in the world of luxury, Caitlyn Chase has been making our days shine with her luxury recommendations since 2011.

Today, she shares with us what she learned from her inspiring journey to create her luxury lifestyle blog Caviar & Cashmere , why she loves to travel, her beauty tips and much more!

How would you define yourself?

It's hard to define myself, because I feel like I'm constantly changing. I strive to learn, grow and become a better person every day. I hope my friends and family would describe me as kind, caring, generous, curious and empathetic.

Tell us about your background.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I grew up on the beach in Malibu with my parents, my older sister and my pets. We are a close-knit family, even to this day, and that is one of the things I am most grateful for in this life. We traveled a lot because my parents thought seeing the world would open our eyes and make us well-rounded individuals who could relate to people from different walks of life. I think that's where my passion for travel started. Although I've never lived permanently outside of Los Angeles, I've visited so many parts of the world and feel like I've experienced so many different cultures, religions and ways of life which shaped the person I am today.

You love to travel, discover new cultures, new people, what are the most amazing lessons you have learned from your experiences?

I have always loved and resonated with the quote, "Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer." I believe everyone should travel and explore the world, and if they want to save and spend their money on anything, it should be experiences related to a better understanding of our planet. Travel is the best form of education. You can read about different religions, languages, cultures, and history in textbooks, but you cannot fully grasp these concepts until you are immersed in them. I always tell young girls, especially the ones I sponsor, that I think everyone should experience solo travel at least once in their life because it gives you such a sense of freedom, independence and a confidence that you will carry with you throughout your life. I've never regretted any trip I've taken, and I'm so glad I had the courage to start traveling alone from a very young age (I first went to Paris at 16), because those trips ended up having the most impact on me.

Why did you start your Caviar & Cashmere blog, and why did you choose this name?

I started my blog, Caviar & Cashmere , after a career in print media. It was 2011, and at that time the industry was shifting away from print and more into digital media. I wanted to get a head start and take advantage of my years of experience in journalism to create my own mini media platform. I've always loved luxury, so I wanted my blog niche to be luxury lifestyle, and I named it after two of my favorite things that instantly denote luxury when heard – Caviar & Cashmere

What outfit makes you feel strong and powerful?

My go-to outfit for feeling confident in any setting, be it a business meeting, interview, brunch with friends, or even a date, is nice leather pants, a silk, an oversized blazer, a handbag and a nice pair of heeled pumps.

What beauty routine do you follow religiously?

I love to take care of myself and I think having a beauty routine is important for everyone, not only for your physical appearance but also for your state of mind. I don't think you need to put in hours a day to look and feel good. Finding what works for you is important. For me, it's a simple but effective skincare routine, a cold shower in the morning and a hot Epsom salt bath in the evening.

What do you do when you feel like you need a break and you need to recharge?

Although much of my career is digital, I'm not glued to my phone. I find being off the grid is the best way for me to recharge. A few years ago, I implemented a few things that really helped my mental health, my sleep, and my overall well-being. On a daily basis, I don't sleep with my phone charging in my bedroom, I put it on airplane mode and let it charge in another room. In the morning, I don't check my phone for at least 30 minutes after I wake up so I have time to do my morning routine. Every month, I have at least one tech-free weekend where I don't use my computer, phone, or TV for 48 hours, which really helps me avoid burnout.

Tell me 3 things that make you super happy

Three things that make me happy are my family, my dog and the beach.

Do you have a specific diet (like vegetarian, gluten free etc., or do you have a normal diet)?

I have no special diet. I work with a nutritionist who helps me plan meals based on how I'm feeling that week. I don't believe in strict or fad diets, but rather intuitive eating specific to your body and genetic makeup. Something that works for me may not work for someone else. Personally, I try to eat healthy and practice intermittent fasting, but I also indulge in my favorite foods (I love pasta and pizza) and allow myself to enjoy them without guilt or shame.

How do you deal with people's negative behavior and haters on social media?

I'm lucky that I haven't been the victim of too much negativity or hate on social media, and thank goodness. I don't know what to attribute this to. I just try to share the kindness online and that others will be motivated to do the same. On the rare occasion that I received a mean comment or message, I choose not to engage, just delete it, block the person, and move on. I know that anything anyone says about me is more a reflection of who they are than who I am.

What is your greatest quality that has helped you in life?

I think it's simple. Work hard and be kind to people.

What motivates you in life?

My greatest motivation is to be free.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I recently celebrated 10 years of my blog, Caviar & Cashmere . I'm proud to have taken such a big step and created a career that I love.

What has life taught you that you would like to share with the readers of PLAN LUXE?
